The Copacabana wave is drawn from the black-and-white stone promenade Roberto Burle Marx laid along Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro in 1970: a curve that reads like moving water. Monochrome keeps the pavement as Rio built it: graphite, ink and bone white, nothing added.
